The 2015 Zimbabwe International Women’s Awards Winners List

ZIWA Winners List

The annual Zimbabwe International Women Awards (ZIWAs) were held in for Birmingham on the 3rd of October 2015.

The awards, founded in 2013 by Juliana Jonathan and Maud Goba, aim to celebrate unsung Zimbabwean women across the globe that are making strides in their respective fields. Some of the biggest winners were 11 year-old motocross rider Tanya Muzinda won in the Sportswoman of the year category, making her the youngest winner.

Vault Cosmetics founder and celebrity make-up artist Jackie Mgido won Entrepreneur of the year, whilst ZiFM Stereo’s news reader Candice Mwakalyelye received Media Professional Of The Year honour and in the midst of a trying time, singer and performer Ammara Brown was honoured with the Musician of the Year award out doing contemporaries Nobuntu, Chashe, Hope Masike and American R&B/Pop sensation Tinashe.

Garnering the votes of the majority was Star FM’s drive time radio personality Kudzai Violet Gwara better known to her allegiance of fans and in media circles as KVG as she won in the People’s Choice Of The Year.
